Deploy Internet Explorer 8 for Better Security
Don?t leave your company at a higher risk by using a competing browser or an older version of Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer 8 is the best browser at protection from malware (based on NSS Labs Web Browser Security Report 3/12/2009). With the Smart Screen Filter, you can protect against evolving threats like type 1 "reflective" XSS attacks, one of the most common vulnerabilities. And with In Private Filtering your company will have an added level of control and choice about the information 3rd-party websites can potentially use to track browsing activity.

The Development of Ultimate Touch ? touch screen enabled by nano technology
Ultimate Touch (uTouch) is a complete new force sensing touch screen developed at Motorola Applied Research Center. This multitouch force sensing touch panel is a revolutionary touch technology promising not only to excel against all current traditional touch technologies, but also to bring endless possibilities of new user applications that were not possible before. The key to uTouch is a transparent distributed force sensing layer, which does not exist previously. Through much experimenting, Motorola was able to utilize conductive nano particles to develop a highly sensitive and highly transparent force sensing layer that drastically changes its resistance according to forces applied. In this talk, we will show the need for nano technology in the development of the uTouch panel, and how Motorola research team utilized nano materials to develop the transparent force-sensing layer, which ultimately enables the manufacturing of uTouch. We will share our experience of taking an idea of force sensing touch screen, searching for the right technology, incorporating innovative nano-materials in the laboratory, and developing a commercially viable product. We will also discuss our licensing effort as soon as it became clear that the product was ready for commercialization.

TV Clips ? using social bookmarking for content discovery in a fragmented TV ecosystem
The explosion in content availability, coupled with the diversity in consumption devices, has fragmented the market. Users need new mechanisms for content discovery and navigation, while providers and advertisers need new ways to analyze and monetize usage. In this paper, we advocate ?social bookmarking? as a solution, given its proven utility in enabling affinity-based discovery online. But, adapting such web-centric ideas to rich media consumption raises technical and business challenges. With TV Clips, we introduce a system that tackles these concerns for broadcast television with extensibility to 3-screen usage. We describe the initial architecture and prototype, and discuss its evolution to support product-centric requirements like scalability and rights management. A secondary goal is to share our experiences in developing this prototype for a commercial environment (i.e., TV) and motivate further research in adapting ?social search? strategies to such media-rich domains.
